“ Please please please get a better checkout situation or have the 3rd register open all day on the weekend. It's not customer friendly to make people wait in line for 30 minutes just to order. Great food just please fix this. ”
“ Love the pastries and cakes from here! Our favorite is their lemon tart but really everything is so good, including the cakes. It can get busy but they try to be efficient and keep the line moving. The store itself can get crowded with the pastry counter, the cafe, and all the imported goods. Not a calm and quiet place but works for a quick meal. ”
“ Yummy delights! Wonderful little bakery and market! Couldn't decide what to get so we got an assortment which included an apple pie, sticky buns, chocolate croissant, cupcakes and bread. Impressive! This will be our new go to bakery! ”
“ Switzerland is known for many things: chocolate, craftsmanship, high quality of life, and political neutrality. One foot in this establishment and all the stresses from the daily grind fade to the background as one can experience all the above in this cozy festive little establishment. The counter is lined with beautiful cakes and pastries with staff eager to assist, an assortment of cheeses to the right, and various jams and potent potables to the left, and an assortment of chocolate and Swiss gourmet offerings wedged in between. A true gem that probably doesn't get enough recognition as it should, but perhaps the Swiss prefer to keep it that way. ”
“ Tends to be busy during the weekends and the holidays, which are the best times to visit. Plenty of good service, if not great. Grateful for the variety of European, specifically Swiss, food and beverage items. I just wish they had more choices of European cheeses. Plenty of sweets just in time for the holidays. Say advent calenders, etc. Their options for beverages and baked goods like their tarts and cakes are excellent. Yeahhhh for their fresh baked goods! Even with an ample number of tables, this place can be packed inside. If you can deal with the cold, there are tables outside too. Get your stuff to go as needed. ”
“ This place is very fun, lots of pastries and traditional food to eat. They also are like a little specialty Swiss grocery store. I will say on a busy day if you haven't been before it's a bit confusing in terms of visitor experience. There are two registers, one seemingly for the cookies and pastries and the other for savory food. After 2 visits I learned that you should order at the sweet counter first (they bag your items and leave them behind the counter with a number), then if you're getting savories head to that side to see the menu and order and pay for everything there. Their cookies are really nice, you can get .5lb for $11. I specifically like the apricot tart but I'm still working my way through the offerings! I can never leave without a pretzel as well. ”
“ They have a great selection of pastries and cakes here! Definitely try the hot chocolate or mocha. If you dine in the beverages come with a little cookie. The cheese danish and eclair was very delicious, as well as their napoleon cakes. We also tried their breakfast sandwiches that were not bad. Fairly standard sandwich. Overall a great experience with friendly and helpful staff! ”
“ I love a bakery that doubles as a lunch cafe, and this one adds the allure of some cool European dishes. The nice ladies made sure we knew what e we were doing on our first time in. We had a great lunch and stopped for pastries to go. They dining area is off to the side of the shop. ”
“ Finding a Swiss Bakery in the DMV area is truly a gem! We are really lucky to have so much options in the area to enjoy. The Swiss Bakery has a fantastic layout, plentiful imported products, fresh baked goods and breads, and a great selection of teas and coffees. I loaded up on a smorgasbord of delightful treats to try and they are great as they are not too sugary, but rather just right. The interior is nice and the staff is helpful and friendly. ”
